How Microbial Counts are Controlled By Ozonated
Water?Ozone is a most efficient Natural Broad-Spectrum Microbiological
control substance and very reactiveDisinfecting agent. In case the
vegetables are washed with strong Ozonated water, not only the microbial
load onto the surface get reduced or the Ozonated water destroys any
Bacteria, Viruses, Cysts and Pathogens on thesurface of food items washed
with this water, in a very short duration.The pesticides (which are long
chain organic components) gets oxidized to short chain components and
finallyinto harmless elements. To conclude, the Ozonated water or the strong
disinfected water used for washing ofvegetables and fruits will make them
fresh, longer shelf life and organically harmless.Today use of Ozonated
water is considered by most to be the best available and advanced technology
for washingfruits and vegetables, CIP and many other applications and a much
better alternative than using chemicals.
Ozone Based Vegetables & Fruits Washing &
Sterilization System
The Equipment consists of a SS-316 Conical
Bottom Tank of requisite capacity, housed with Top-Bottom Jet SprayMechanism
for efficiently washing, two SS-316 perforated Grid baskets which are used
one by one in the washingsystem. The basket been designed so that two
persons can easily lift the tray with vegetables for washing,removing and
further loading into the trays.Product required to be washed is to be
pre-washed to remove dust & mud, after pre-wash it can be moved
toVEGWASH-500 system where Ozonated water is sprayed on the vegetables with
a Wall mounted Ozonegenerator & its Control panel, the water is
recirculated in the system and continuously Ozone is added in everycycle.
Depending upon the product quality the process of washing can be between
5-15 min.Once the water becomes dirty it can be transferred to the pre-wash,
and fresh water can be refilled in theVEGWASH System. Injection & Spray
of Ozonated water mechanism will consist of a Booster Pump, VenturyInjector
& Static Mixer, after static mixer the water will be spread on to the
fruits by existing nozzles.
